Vehicle sourcing & import · Nigeria

Every dollar, itemised, before you commit.

We source vehicles from the US, Europe and the UAE and deliver them to your door in Nigeria, cleared and documented. You pay through escrow, and the quote splits every cost into its own line — so nothing turns up afterwards.

Why people use us

The car is the easy part.

Most people who get burned importing a vehicle don’t get burned on the car. They get burned after it lands — a duty figure nobody mentioned, a clearing bill that doubles, an agent who stops picking up.

Fayawo quotes all of it before you pay anything, and shows you where the vehicle is the entire way.

Duty quoted at the start

Import duty and levies are calculated at quote stage and written down with an expiry date, so you are deciding on a real number instead of an estimate that grows later.

Inspected before purchase

Nothing is bought from a listing photo. The vehicle is physically checked first, and you see the result before money moves toward it.

Trackable end to end

Every order gets a reference showing the vessel, both ports, the customs stage and the delivery date. It works without an account.

Escrow

Your money doesn’t come to us first.

Every order is paid through escrow. You transfer once, into an account neither side can move alone, and the funds are only released to Fayawo after the vehicle is with you.

It is the answer to the question everyone importing a car is really asking: what happens to my money if you disappear.

Step one

You pay into escrow

Not into a personal account, and not to anyone claiming to speak for us.

Step two

The funds are held

escrow.com holds the money while we source, buy, ship and clear the vehicle.

Step three

We deliver to you

The car arrives at your address, cleared and with its documents.

Step four

You release the funds

Only once you have the vehicle and you are satisfied does the money reach us.

Escrow is held by escrow.com. If anyone asks you to pay Fayawo by any other route — a personal transfer, a different account name, cash — it is not us. Stop and call the number on this site.
Our process

Five steps, and you can see all of them.

  1. 01

    Tell us what you want

A specific listing, or just a make, model, year and budget. If it is not in our inventory, we source it.

  2. 02

    We source and inspect

We find the vehicle through our dealer and auction network and inspect it physically before anyone commits to buying it.

  3. 03

    You approve an itemised quote

Vehicle, freight and insurance, duty and levies, clearing and handling, our fee, delivery. One total, valid seven days.

  4. 04

    We buy, ship and clear

You pay into escrow, we buy the vehicle and book it onto a vessel. You follow it from the origin port through customs clearance.

  5. 05

    We deliver

Cleared, documented and delivered to your address. You inspect it, then release the escrow.

What you are paying for

Six lines. No seventh one later.

Importers usually quote you the car and stay quiet about the rest. Here is every component of the number we give you, and what each one actually covers.

Vehicle cost
What the car itself costs at the dealer or auction, quoted in US dollars so it does not move with the exchange rate.
Freight & insurance
Getting it onto a vessel and covering it while it is at sea. Roll-on roll-off or container, whichever suits the vehicle.
Import duty & levies
What Customs charges to bring the vehicle into Nigeria. Calculated on the vehicle, its age and its engine — not guessed at.
Clearing & handling
Terminal charges, agency fees and the paperwork that gets it released from the port.
Our fee
What Fayawo charges for sourcing, inspecting and managing the whole process. One figure, stated plainly.
Delivery
From the port to your address, anywhere in Nigeria.
Where we source from

Three markets, and they are not interchangeable.

The country a vehicle comes from decides what it costs, what condition it arrives in and how long it takes. Most importers never mention this. Here is how we choose, and what each route is genuinely better at.

Best for value and choice

United States

Baltimore · Newark · Savannah

The deepest supply and the best prices, especially for Toyota, Honda and Lexus. Auction and dealer stock, with full history reports available on almost every vehicle.

Best for German marques

Europe

Antwerp · Bremerhaven · Southampton

Where the German marques come from, with service records that tend to be complete. Diesel and manual options you will not find in American stock.

Best for speed and condition

United Arab Emirates

Jebel Ali · Sharjah

The shortest sailing to Lagos and the mildest climate history — no road salt, no rust. Strong for SUVs and for specification levels built for hot countries.

Before we buy

What “inspected” actually means.

Every importer says they inspect the vehicle. Almost none of them will tell you what that involves, which makes the claim impossible to hold anyone to.

This is our checklist. If a vehicle fails any of it, we do not buy it, and you are told what failed and why.

  1. 01

    Title and history

VIN run against the national records: salvage, flood, theft, odometer rollback, number of owners. If the title is not clean, we say so before anything else happens.

  2. 02

    Structure

Panel gaps, paint depth and weld seams, looking for accident repair that a photograph will never show.

  3. 03

    Mechanical

Cold start, engine and transmission under load, fluid condition, error codes pulled from the diagnostic port.

  4. 04

    Underneath

Rust on the chassis and subframe — the thing that most often turns a bargain into a liability, and the thing nobody photographs.

  5. 05

    Tyres, glass and electrics

Dates on the tyres, chips and cracks, every window, light, camera and screen tested.

  6. 06

    Photographs and a report

Everything above written down and sent to you, including whatever we found wrong. You decide with the same information we have.

Doorstep delivery

We bring it to your gate.

You do not go to the port, you do not chase an agent, and you do not pay a separate haulage bill at the end. Delivery is a line on your quote and the car comes to the address you give us.

Lagos Abuja Port Harcourt Ibadan Benin City Kano Enugu Abeokuta Anywhere in Nigeria
  • We call ahead You get a window, not a vague day. If it slips, you hear it from us before it slips.
  • It arrives on a truck, not driven The car reaches you with the mileage it had at the port.
  • Documents come with it Customs papers, bill of lading and everything you need to register it, handed over in person.
  • You inspect before you sign Walk around it, start it, check it against the photographs. Nothing is final until you say so.
Tracking

Where is my car?

Every shipment has a reference. Enter it and you get the vessel, both ports, the customs stage and the date it cleared. No account needed — tracking shows shipping progress only, never your name, address or payments.

The alternative

You already know how this usually goes.

Nearly everyone importing a car in Nigeria knows somebody it went wrong for. Here is the difference, line by line.

Stage Fayawo A typical importer
What you are quoted Six itemised lines and one total, valid seven days. The car price. Duty and clearing "we will sort out later".
Where your money sits In escrow, released only after the car reaches you. In their personal account, the day you transfer it.
Before the car is bought Physically inspected, and you see the result. Bought off a listing photo, sight unseen.
While it is in transit A tracking reference showing vessel, ports and customs stage. Voice notes, and eventually unanswered calls.
When it lands Delivered to your address with its documents. Collect it yourself, and settle the clearing bill first.
If something goes wrong A company with an address, a phone number and a paper trail. A phone number that stops connecting.
Questions

The things people actually ask.

How long does it take?

Typically six to ten weeks from order to delivery in Lagos, depending on the origin port and how quickly the vehicle clears customs. Your quote gives a date range for your specific vehicle, and tracking shows where it actually is.

Is import duty included in the price?

Yes. Duty and levies appear as their own line on your quote, along with clearing and handling. They are not billed to you separately after the vehicle lands.

What happens if the inspection fails?

We do not buy it. We go back and source another one that does pass, and you are told what failed and why.

Can I use my own clearing agent?

Yes. Tell us at quote stage and we take clearing and handling out of the quote. You will get the shipping documents you need to clear it yourself.

Do you deliver outside Lagos?

Yes. We deliver to your address anywhere in Nigeria, and the cost to your city is a line on your quote rather than a bill at the end.

How does the escrow work?

You pay once, into escrow. The funds are held there while we source, buy, ship and clear the vehicle, and they are only released to Fayawo after the car has been delivered to you and you are satisfied with it.

Do I have to collect the car from the port?

No. We clear it and bring it to the address you give us, on a truck rather than driven, with its customs papers and registration documents.

Which country should my car come from?

It depends on the vehicle. The United States has the deepest supply and the best prices, particularly for Japanese marques. Europe is where the German cars come from, usually with fuller service records. The UAE has the shortest sailing to Lagos and no road salt, so the bodies are cleaner. We will tell you which route suits what you are after rather than pushing whichever is easiest for us.

What does the inspection actually cover?

Title and history against the VIN, structural checks for accident repair, a cold start and a drive, diagnostic codes, rust underneath, tyres, glass and every electrical item. You get the photographs and the written result, including anything we found wrong.

What if someone asks me to pay a different account?

Do not pay it. Fayawo is paid through escrow and nothing else — never a personal transfer, never cash, never a different account name. Call the number on this site and check.
